Dr. Mohamed Mortada Professor of Rheumatology Zagazig University

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Atia Mortada is a leading expert in rheumatology and musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS), currently serving as Professor of Rheumatology and Head of the MSUS Unit at Zagazig University, Egypt. With over two decades of clinical and academic experience, he has pioneered MSUS education and practice in Egypt and the Arab region. His research interests focus on ultrasonographic assessment in rheumatic diseases, injection therapies, and the development of novel scoring systems for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Prof. Mortada is an active member of international organizations including OMERACT, ARLAR, AFLAR, and PRINTO, and has contributed extensively to consensus guidelines and multicenter studies. He has presented at major international conferences such as EULAR and AIUM, and continues to lead workshops and collaborative research across Africa and the Middle East. His work bridges clinical excellence with innovation in imaging and patient-centered care.
