Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinoma Syndrome (NBCCS) is a rare genetic condition linked to pathogenic mutations in the PTCH1 gene. It was first described in 1894 and further defined in 1960 by Gorlin and Goltz. Hence, it is also known as Gorlin or Gorlin-Goltz syndrome.
