Diabetic foot infections are a major health concern with high morbidity and long-term costs. We frequently see impaired wound healing creating disability and amputations, especially in cases complicated by osteomyelitis; this is partly due to antibiotic resistance. The most common infective organism is Staphylococcus aureus.
