Partial separation of an early embryo leads to the formation of conjoined twins where two fetuses develop from the embryo but they remain physically connected. Half of the conjoined twins are stillborn and many dies within 24 h after delivery. This is a very rare phenomenon with a proportion of 1 in 49,000 to 89,000 and is more prevalent in Africa
