An Oncologist is a medical specialist who diagnoses and treats cancer. They address various types of cancer, including but not limited to breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer (melanoma), leukemia, lymphoma, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, brain tumors, and bone cancer. Oncologists use a variety of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, to manage and combat these cancer types.

Qualifications for an Oncologist typically include completing a bachelor's degree, attending medical school, and undergoing a residency in Internal Medicine or a related field. They then pursue further training or fellowships in Medical Oncology, Hematology-Oncology, or Radiation Oncology. Oncologists must obtain a medical license and may pursue board certification in their respective subspecialties.
